Vineyard Notes

Located in the Carneros AVA, a cooler climate wine growing area. It is influenced by fog and maritime breezes that travel in from the Pacific via the San Pablo Bay and Petaluma Gap. Slow leaf development and photosynthesis allow the vines to grow slowly and evenly, ideal for delicate Pinot Noir.

Winemaking Note

100% de-stememed. Fermentation with Xpure after 5-day cold soak. 10 day maceration. Aged 16 months in French oak neutral barrels.

Tasting Notes

Delicate garnet color in the glass. Appealing aromas of Bing cherry, forest floor, purple flower and crushed herb. Polished tannins and pleasant acidity. Elegant and layered. Slow to reveal, but does so offering depth, focus and complexity, unveiling a mix of wild berry, raspberry and spice flavors, ends with a long, persistent finish.

Food Pairing

Asian flavors such as star anise, wasabi, hoisin, seaweeds, lotus root, fennel, sesame oil, and even mild soy marinades and glazes - all of these can bring out the mildly sweet, earthy, and wonderfully beefy qualities of Pinot Noir, just as the wine can bring out the same qualities in the food.
